When you're a college baseball pitcher and you have a shoulder
injury, what do you do? Well, if your Mark, you have to keep working out, so you try something new, like the 1989 Wildflower
Triathlon. He made it through the race in one piece, even though no one told him not to swim in shorts with pockets
and his bike weighted almost as much as he did. Oh, and you get totally hooked. Fast forward about 20 years (yikes!) and Mark's
multi-sport resume now includes completing 10 Ironman's including three finishes at the World Championships in Hawaii.
He's racked up a several USAT All-American rankings, has a stack of race t-shirts taller than his wife, and a reputation
as the nicest guy in the field. Mark has combined his passion
for triathlon with a career of helping people achieve a healthy, active lifestyle. He's been involved in the fitness industry
for over 20 years as a coach, club manager, personal trainer, and most recently, personal training studio owner. Mark's
degree in exercise physiology with a minor in nutrition, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist designation
from the National Strength and Conditioning Association give him a scientific foundation to draw from when he's coaching.
But, more importantly, he brings a wealth of knowledge from competing and training in every triathlon distance, running, and
cycling. Mark believes in an individualistic approach to program design and his goal is to make every journey a fun, exciting,
and successful endeavor for each athlete. Mark lives in Roseville, CA with his wife Amy, son Dominic, and dogs, Kona and Tango.
